    The pant s a thick climber with the stem branched,terete 1-4m,woody,smooth.The petiole is 5-15cm,narrowly winged for 1/4th-3/5th its length.The tendrils are well developed.Leaf blade it elliptic or ovate-laceolate,6-15cm long,1-7cm wide.The tendrils are inflorescence of 1 umbel,peduncle 1-5,strikingly shorter than petiole.Male flowers are greenish white,slightly 6 angled.The fruits are bluish black in colour.

Benefits of Chopachini Herb

The root contains Astilbin, ca?eoyl shikimic, ferulic, palmitic, shikimic and succinic acids; engeletin, isoengeletin; glucose; daucosterol, beta-sitosterol and stigmasterol.

Piranga roga (syphilis)

In case of Phiranga roga (Syphilis) 2.5 g powder of Copacini (Smilax china) mixed with honey to be taken. During this treatment he should be on salt diet.

Sandhivata (Arthritis)

Kwatha (Decoction) of Usava & Copacini (Smilax china) mixed with honey may be used in Sandhivata (Arthritis).

Smilax glabra Roxb, phenolic enriched extract is prepared with    70%  ethanol and purified by HP-20 column chromatography. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities were evaluated by radical scavenging assay, reducing  power determination and lipopoly saccharide (LPS) induced  RAW 264.7 cells assays. Seventeen components including 5-0-Caffeoylishekimic acid, neoastibin, astibin, neoisoastibin, isoastibin, engetin and isoengeletin were identified . the findings suggest the potentials of Natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent.


 Side Effects-

As it is mild laxative,people with diarrhea should use this with precaution.
