This recipe is light yet sustaining because sweet potatoes are a rich source of complex carbohydrates. This is the reason that after having this meal you will feel your hunger satiated for a longer duration. Sweet potatoes are light on the stomach unlike white potatoes. They are even recommended for weight loss although they are very nourishing. White potatoes make you feel tired because they are heavy to digest, but this is not the case with sweet potatoes. The addition of healthy fat like ghee is to add strength and vigor to this dish.

  • Sweet potatoes are unique as far as comfort foods are concerned because they are very easy to digest. This recipe is especially beneficial for people who have serious digestive problems. Although they are considered sweet they are beneficial for diabetics. This is because studies have revealed that they stabilize the sugar levels in the blood. Sweet potatoes are full of fiber which encourages good elimination thus cleansing the stomach. Kale is also cooling and adds roughage along with several minerals and vitamins. This further supports the bowel movements.

  • When the spring is warming up to summer the body starts its natural detox cycle and this dish helps in the process. It works by purging the bile from your liver and gall bladder. This in turn cools down the heat of pitta and lightens the heaviness of kapha. The garam masala is also meant for balancing the three doshas.

  • Enjoy the beginning of summer with this delicious dish which will cleanse your system and make you feel fresh and light.
