  • Khichadi (recipe made by cooking rice and mung dal )
  • Regular physical exercise
  • Walk after 30 min of food consumption

dairy products, oily food items, salty and sour food articles should be avoided.

Consumption of incompatible food items i.e. Viruddha Ahara should be strictly avoided.

Cold beverages, Cold water, Ice cream should be avoided .

Avoid excessive water intake after consuming food .

  • Avoid eating of  hot, spicy and fried foods and sugars
  • Avoid  Vata forming foods like cabbage, Cauliflower, spinach, broccoli, okra and potatoes.
  • Do not take Too much tea, coffee, alcohol, white sugar, yogurt, chocolate, cocoa.
  • Avoid Sleeping during the day
  • Avoid night awakening
  • Avoid Mental tensions like worry, anxiety, fear, stress and grief.

 

o’s and don’ts

Following is the diet suggested for the patients suffering form Amavata:

  • Vegetable juices and soups
  • Coconut water
  • Coconut milk
  • Carrot juice
  • Beet root juice
  • Cucumber juice
  • Cooked vegetables like squash, zucchini and pumpkin
  • Spices like cumin, coriander, ginger, asafetida, garlic, fennel and turmeric Green salad with a dressing of lemon juice and a little salt
  • Khichadi (recipe made by cooking rice and mung dal )
  • Regular physical exercise and massage with oil (not on affected parts but on all body) should form an important part of the routine.

The patient of Amavata must avoid the following:

  • Eating hot, spicy and fried foods, sugars, Vata forming foods like cabbage, Cauliflower, spinach, broccoli, okra and potatoes.
  • Too much tea, coffee, alcohol, white sugar, yogurt, chocolate, cocoa.
  • Sleeping during the day
  • Staying up late at night
  • Mental tensions like worry, anxiety, fear, stress and grief.
